This forthcoming year for the fiery, adventurous Leo, sees almighty powerful Jupiter shift into our cosmic karma and apparently with this, it means I’m going to be embracing everything that is good for body, soul and mind, in turn coaxing and nourishing my aura into greater fortunes….Now, that sounds rather fabulous doesn’t it? I’m in one of those moods, where I’m easily caught up with these kind of astrological predictions, and this revelation had me brimming with optimism, considering also as it is rather, ridiculously, long overdue. Sooo, perhaps I need to pull out those dog eared travel clippings that I’ve stored away faithfully in my secret diary that’s heavier than any bucket list. Maybe it’s time to finally start booking in longer massages… and maybe, just maybe, it’s time to go vegetarian…

Ok, reality check to self, you raving loony of a carnivore. The travel will come,  hell or high water, whether Jupiter is sitting fat and round on top of your house or not (you just have to work that little bit harder to get to the seriously off the beaten track places you have always dreamed of). The gym is helping you kick the crap out of any stress that might be lurking around your system so the diva style massages have never quite been your thing (and it’s a brain massage you need actually most of the time, anything less flimsy is of no help– your body deals with a whole bunch of nonsense with a fairly good track record!) Ok, the vegetarian thing – lady – you’re a chorizo freak and giving up your Sunday roasts might as well be asking you to confine yourself to the monasteries…so let’s get real here..it’s not going to happen…

Happy Thanksgiving to all you wonderful folk!

Wow, self affirmation is a great exercise!!  There are parts of this that are true. I am a very reliant meat and seafood lover and considering I love deep sea fishing, these are lifestyle choices that clearly don’t sit coherently with vegetarianism. However, a very big however…  I looked over the 500 odd recipes I’ve written for the book and the blog and I’m astonished at how many actually fall into the category of ”Vegetarian”.  Looking into my daily diet, there is a plethora of vegetarian dishes that I eat coupled with protein packed grains that really satisfy my cravings for good food. There are days when I just want to have a bowl of gently simmered lentils or a fresh bright, herb filled garden salad, straight from the greenhouse– so essentially what I am trying to say is, vegetarian food is absolutely delicious and with a huge variety of globally sourced grains available now in your everyday supermarket, there’s no real excuse for not bringing more of this goodness into your diet.

So, with Jupiter bringing on a new worldly appreciation of all good and great things, this week, I’m sharing my love of vegetarian treats. I’m discovering new and exciting ways of cooking with tofu and exploring the soya phenomenon amongst a whole host of other fun discussion points on going vegetarian ..keep posted folks!
